Have you taken a cruise?

Hi everyone! Back from a long weekend and a wonderful birthday yesterday. I was completely spoiled and overwhelmed with how thoughtful everyone was. Long, well crafted birthday messages and calls – contributed to my ever lasting smile. After breakfast with the family I turned on the tv while I finished a coffee to start watching a show about crews onboard massive cruise ships.

There are so many neat activities out at sea! Plus all the places they visit, made me want to book one right away. So for today, I'm asking you a question. Have you ever taken a cruise or would you ever take one?

My current thoughts of where I'd jump on a boat tomorrow would be to see: Hawaii, Alaska, or the Mediterranean. In all seriousness, I'm going to start saving for one in the next few years.

From family friends who have attended 17 different cruises mentioned it is worth upgrading for a balcony. Rooms are extremely compact and tiny, thus fresh air will help tight quarters feel larger.

Hope you all have a great day!

We have taken 5 cruises, with the 6th scheduled. They have all been on Disney Cruise Line so far. We have done the Bahamas, Eastern, Southern, and Western Caribbean and the Mediterranean. Cruising, especially with Disney, is a great way to tour the world. For us, upgrading to a balcony room is not necessary. We are seldom in the room except to sleep. Saving money to travel more makes more sense for us.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Do oh have a large age range with your family or only bring the kids along? We would love to do a cruise as there would be something for everyone with the added safely of all being on a boat vs exploring a city.

I went on private taxi tours with my family. There were a few places where we just roamed around. Croatia was honestly my favorite and the most beautiful of the places in regards to nature. Definitely saving for another!

  3. If I ever go on a cruise again I’d totally do a Russia trip! Or maybe Egypt! Those might be good destinations to see via cruise! 🙂

    1. Awesome selections! Where have you taken a cruise before? Seems neat to be one the water however could be difficult to really explore local cultures with limited time on land.

      1. Yes that was the downside … you really do spend like 70% of the time on the ship! I have gone to Key West, Grand Cayman, and Ocho Rios Jamaica:)

    1. Sounds amazing! Where did you go to? Costs must add up quickly with excursions, tips, and extras.

      1. Costs did add up, but we felt is was worth it! But with food and on board entertainment included that helped. We spent the most on excursions. Ours went to the Cayman Islands, Honduras, Belize, and Cozumel. 😊

      2. Agree with you about excursions being worth the expense! Nice it’s organized and you’re guaranteed to make it back to the port on time. Wow, I’m sold on your cruise haha. Thanks for sharing!
