Cost of Caffeine

Many people start their day with coffee or caffeinated tea. I make either coffee or a small latte at home to take to work, then have tea in the afternoon at my desk. If I’m completely exhausted then will pick up a coffee at lunch to get by. Looking at it now this is a huge market…maybe Cracking Adulthood should invest in coffee chains! Before having any form of caffeine I try to start my day with a giant glass of water, helps wake me up.

To place spending habits in perspective, buying coffee everyday can range from $1.75 – $3.50, equating to $8.75 – $17.50 a week or $455 – $910. These calculations are based on buying a drink once a day on week days. Regardless it’s a lot of money on coffee alone!

Canada is ranked number 19, with United States following at 22, on the list of highest coffee consumption per capita. We truly enjoy it whether its hot or cold!

Have a wonderful day,

I drink coffee on a daily basis…. luckily I prefer my coffee black, so no add calories and I can get it from work for free. I start every weekday off with a 12 oz cup… sometimes I’ll go back for seconds, but then I finish the rest of the day with water.

    1. Thanks for your reply! Find black coffee way too strong and have to add milk. Did you always drink your coffee black? Have tried switching up milks to dairy free options. You’re lucky to have free coffee at work – always a nice treat to start your day.

I did start drinking it black. I was at a conference in college the first time I tried it and there wasn’t any creamer left. I didn’t hate it so I’ve just stuck with drinking it that way…. really grows on you over time. Yes, I’m very lucky to have coffee provided at work!

      2. That’s one way to introduce you to black coffee! Luckily it was a happy ending for you 🙂
