Don’t Sweat the Tiny Things

Happy Monday, may you all have a wonderful week. We’re celebrating Family day today and loving having an extra day with my family. Spending the morning relaxing with family and working before attending an afternoon hockey game. Yes, a very Canadian moment!

Last week was emotionally draining for me and found myself on Friday counting down the seconds until Saturday. I was ready for a new day because Friday was one of the toughest day I’ve had in a while; a series of unfortunate events happening every hour.

With each new challenge I seriously had no idea how I was going to get through the day. Thankfully with family by my side I was reminded of the power in numbers. Together we are always stronger. When someone asks why I haven’t moved away from home it’s because no matter how tough of a day we have had we drink tea and make light of each situation by finding a reason to laugh. No only is this a great way to unwind before bed but it also plays as a reminder to keep your eyes on the bigger picture.

In life we shouldn’t allow tiny actions to define us. Focusing on a larger picture, will this “tiny thing” matter tomorrow, next week, a month from now, six months from now, a year later, or 10 years down the road? Understanding in the grand scheme how this affects your future lifedetermines how you should react today, perspective is a mind game.

Recognize which items will contribute to your goals. Small hiccups happen to everyone but how you react defines you. We aren’t all energizer bunnies and need to conserve our resources. If something isn’t going to matter in the long term then why waste time, energy, and possibly money if it could be better used elsewhere?
