Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a wonderful time celebrating and ringing in 2017. One of my close friends hosted a dinner party, including an incredible homemade photo booth with backdrop and props, before going to an event at The Fairmont. Tickets for dancing were relative in price to local clubs, not to mention the added luxury of having room to move on multiple dance floors. Majority of the time it’s hard to get me off the dance floor, I just love to dance! This is an event I’d recommend in the future.
Announced on my Instagram page was a schedule for blog posts:
Monday – Motivation
Tuesday – Travel
Wednesday – Wildcard
Thursday – Spotlight
Friday – Food & Fitness
If you have any specific topics feel free to leave a comment below and I’d happily discuss them.
This led way to today’s discussion of fearing starting something new and turning failure into opportunities. One of the greatest barriers to success is failing to start. Yes, many failures will come along the way to beginning anything new, however these are also opportunities to learn, improve, and grow.

One of the toughest parts I find is getting started. We have great ideas but fear stops us from trying. Although discouraging this is an opportunity to learn from your mistakes. We also must not forget the flip side of succeeding!
Success takes time and isn’t born overnight. In a world of instant gratification as individuals we have to train ourselves to be patient, including being willing to invest time and effort into our goals. Part of this process is gaining knowledge through learning. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, even experts are continually learning.
Now get started tackling your goals. If you’re interested in goal setting, check out S.M.A.R.T. New Years Resolutions.
